What does that look like?

My wife and I discussed how a person’s title may not align with their character. Sometimes an individual’s character is not able to keep up with their professional responsibilities. They are in a quagmire with what they believe and who they are. This sometimes may happen when the desire to get to a destination quickly outweighs the timing.

It becomes a high valued decision maker in the process, superseding reason. It will then fall back seat to the decision, and turn into doubt or double mindedness, as they compete for the outcome.

Example

An example of this could be a character overreach where a person’s role does not allow them to perform a duty or function but they do it anyway. During that process they exceed the authority that they have been empowered with, making poor decisions and inflicting harm or injury to others. This can be a mental or physical result, that could have been avoided, had they properly declined or handed the responsibility to someone else in the proper role.

The conditional belief says that they are allowed overreach and justifies the action without accountability. It becomes an open door to being a victim to the outcome. An apology will often then follow with an excuse, “I am sorry but…”.

Imposter syndrome does not care about the role, it only sees a goal or a finish line. If I am selected, thats your fault and not mine. Even though I am not qualified, I believe that for this role, I am. Conditional beliefs have inconsistent responses. Durning the interview I am qualified but after the interview I don’t care.

Conditional situations show up masquerading as logic and reason. The desire to be accepted outweighs the ability to be truthful. They are not strongholds but shapeshifters and chameleons that create deceptive whispers for your yes.

When accountability shows up, the victim will raise their voice.

Recognize It

It’s always easier to see it in others but how do I recognize it in myself?

Be honest with yourself.
Ask why I believe that.
Don’t spread the peanut butter and apply it to everyone.
Change the belief by finding good in the situation.
