IoT

Have you heard of the Internet of Things (IoT)? Sensors, processors, and communication hardware transmit or receive data to perform functions or automated tasks. This goes on all the time and in many forms around the globe. These tasks are working effortlessly transferring money, collecting data, following instructions, updating events, etc.

SoT

The Spirit of Things (SoT) is the communication that happens in a separate realm from IoT. It happens in a way that can influence or change physical things. I would not be surprised to find out that the model for IoT was derived from SoT principles. The spiritual side of things is not new, it’s been embedded in different religions and cultures for centuries. We have all been exposed to it, either by a church, various holidays, scary movies, weird friends, etc.

Some might say that they don’t believe in the spiritual side of life. That is very understandable because it’s been used in Hollywood as enlightenment dissipation for revenue. Movies like The Blair Witch Project, The Exorcist, and Paranormal Activity have spread the spectrum of horror, and fear cloaked as entertainment. It has de-spiritualized, in humans, what was once important to almost any culture around the globe.

No doubt this is difficult to explain but even odder is the understanding of how it’s experienced. This article will keep it somewhat simplistic where basic pieces are introduced to follow a smaller construct. The idea here is to walk through an introductory understanding and not go to town on the whole enchilada. Think of it this way, if the spiritual side of things is just as big as the physical side of things, it could take a while.

Tablestakes

Let’s start by breaking out the discussion of the physical versus spiritual environment. I like to use the 80/20 rule where 80% is generally acceptable and 20% is just unknown. The physical is anything you can see, touch, and feel, however, this doesn’t explain goosebumps. Those bumps on a person’s skin when they get cold, scared, or excited, where do they come from? I am sure there is a perfectly good scientific reason that we sense something is wrong and these bumps appear. The 20%, that the understanding is vague at best.

Introducing words like faith for this article is simply the creative idea that has merit in the brain’s belief. Someone may have faith in their ability to climb a mountain but have never done it. To expand on this they also may have the hope that some friends will join them. These are important words because they are not dependent on the physical. They are a dream of what is to come based on a belief at the time.

Unknown

Do you believe something before you do it? Or does it require you to do it before you believe it? If you believe in something does that mean you have faith in it? Is it the unknown we are talking about? Can you believe in the unknown or does it violate your sense of control?

What’s the difference between thinking and feeling? Can they be separated? Do they have to be compartmentalized in order to have a discussion or can they be intermixed? Bill Johnson of Bethel Church in Redding CA. explains it this way, the heart feels and the mind thinks. Our brain processors do many things, with many points of data, that we barely have touched the surface on. Everything that is unseen may not be spiritual but it does play a role in our sense of agency. Scientists are learning things that influence our behaviors and reactions. Something as simple as a good smell can change your response in the affirmative. They also have learned that positive visual stimuli can affect the outcome.

Heart

Is not the heart known as the inner man? Things like the mind, soul, spirit, imagination, will, desires, emotions, affections, memory, conscience, etc. The sheer fact that you know, that you know. I believe that this is where faith is present, the evidence of things not seen. (Heb 11:1) And where faith helps us move forward, hope is the exponential factor in the equation.

Could it simply be that we are spirit beings in the flesh? Is this such a hard concept to understand? That our hearts are the spiritual gathering of things where there is no law? (Gal 5:23)

Quantum Physics is taking us to new places of understanding and opening up new realms of the unknown. Yet in the midst of it all, the most remarkable discoveries suggest we are way more spiritually connected than ever thought. It is the most overlooked subject because once it’s introduced it brings God into the equation. And this is scary why?

God

I have a really good friend that told me why he has a problem with God. He suggests that it’s a hindrance to moving forward because people stop investigating and say it must be God. I tend to agree, there are many people I know that hide behind God. They fail to dig in more and instead allow the mystery to be drowned out in religion. Yeah, it’s probably silly that he doesn’t believe in God because of other people’s actions. But if that’s what you heard then you missed a big piece of gold.

When the Spirit of God is introduced it challenges those that want control. Which goes back to my earlier point that it becomes difficult to experience the spiritual and explain it. To experience something when there is no control means that the experience will be different every time. Then having to explain it to someone becomes more difficult because it can’t be duplicated. Also saying it was God does nothing for those trying to understand the experience and we are right back at the beginning.

I have faith in the spiritual because things like your will, desires, and emotions can’t be explained. They change all the time depending on countless variables from person to person. Some can even sense others in the room and what they are feeling without even knowing who they are. The audience can laugh together or cry together with just a change of the Speaker. Was this by design? Are we spiritually connected or is this just a subconscious thing?

Hiding

I am a big fan of science but not when people hide behind it like those that hide behind God. God created science, not the other way around because it just wouldn’t make sense. Never heard of a painting creating itself and then identifying a creator. Everything has a creator and science does too.

To the point of this article and SoT.

We are able to see things on a quantum level. They are so small that we are unable to see them with the human eye, but there are other means. A Spiritual realm is a place where we just have not had the science to explain its existence but know it’s there. Meditation is the common means to dial into this space and once connected provides us with all kinds of answers. This is a place of intimacy with our thoughts, beliefs, and God.

It has been twisted like many other things, changed to support a different narrative but the truth never changes, it’s only reinforced.
